Ven. Wathurakumbure Dharmarathna thero is the founder of this International Buddhist Center. A Beautiful “Chaithya” on the top of the Mountain has been erected and made available to the devotees of Sri Shakyasinghe Maha Seya. The Main Objective of this constructed Buddhist Center is to create Buddhist monks who are lacking in Buddhism, to engage in the Dharma of the Youth that to lead the misguided youth and to spread Buddhism all over the world.
The Nelligala International Buddhist Center is surrounded by awesome views and is best visited in the morning and evening. It is a very relaxing place with ample car parking available for visitors. The top of the hill provides 360° view of the central moorlands of the Country. Some of the views from the top of the hill are Hanthana Mountain Range, Knuckles Mountains, Piduruthalagala Mountain, Alagalla Mountain, Adam’s Peak and Bathalegala Mountain. This View is definitely made you wonder more than more. Blue Sky with the green Vegetation make you amazing a lot.
