How to get to the Ella Rock, Sri Lanka
Ella Rock is situated in the centre of the island. You have to begin your hike directly from the centre of Ella and there’s no need to get any transportation to the starting point.
Subsequently, you have to lead your way to the train tracks from town which will afterwards take you up directly to the starting point of the Ella Rock hike. You can use google maps to find the directions along the way.

Ella Rock is a famous cliff located high above Ella’s village and 1041 m (3415 ft) above sea level. The stunning viewpoints of cascades, rubber tree forest and tea plantations will reward you with the most mind blowing lookout across the hills of the country.
It takes four hours to climb up and down the staggering rock and the best time to visit the Ella Rock is in early mornings or late evenings. The way up there is rich in diversity and it’s a long journey. Plus, on rainy days it can be slippery so be cautious with what you wear.
If you ever feel excruciated taking part in the Ella Rock hike alone then you can pay for a local guide to show you the way. It will cost around 1500 rupees. Once you’ve reached the top you’ll see the comprehensive and panoramic views combined with fog and clouds covering the whole area.
